Sustainability is an increasingly popular concept among businesses that are conscious and want to contribute to a better future for coming generations. For that reason, when organizing events it is important to pay attention to the details—regardless of the client, the type of event, or its size.

We in Croatia love to see what is being done abroad at events and to bring those ideas here — that is a fact. For that reason, it remains unclear why we have not embraced sustainability and applied it to the events that various organizers run across Croatia every day.

After weeks in which we've aimed to introduce you to sustainable events and the trends that will shape them, we've decided to present a gallery - a collection of venues recognized as the most sustainable in the world. Enjoy!

In-person events have traditionally relied on paper and single-use communications — printed banners and signage, paper brochures, business cards, and the like. Below is a short list of items you can shift from traditional print into your event app.

At its most basic level, sustainable catering focuses on environmentally conscious methods of sourcing, preparing, serving, and disposing of food and materials. What does that mean for you as an event organizer?

Choose a venue that is accessible by public transportation, and be sure to actively communicate this to your attendees. If you don't inform attendees that convenient public transit options are available, they will likely overlook them and arrange their own means of travel to your event.

We event organizers all want to create events where participants feel welcome, where they learn something, and, above all, events they will be happy to return to. That's why, in the next two articles, we bring you 20 different ways to organize such events, including how to make them accessible to people with disabilities.
