How to Stay Motivated in These Uncertain Times?

We live in times of constant change, where uncertainty has become an almost everyday reality. Shifts happen unexpectedly, decisions that once seemed straightforward now demand greater flexibility, and planning for the future often feels like trying to grasp sand slipping through your fingers. In such an environment, how can we adapt and make wise choices when stability is no longer guaranteed?

Below, we offer a few ideas for event managers that we hope will help them juggle the present and an uncertain future:

Leverage Your Experience

When we first encountered the virus, no one knew how to behave or what to expect—what measures would be implemented or which direction things would take. Today, the situation is somewhat different. Utilise the experience you have gained and adapt your operations in the most effective way possible.

Maintain a Positive Mindset

We know it sounds like a cliché, but maintaining a positive mindset—a smile and a constructive attitude—really matters in every situation. Each day has its ups and downs, but ultimately, the day is what you make of it.

Meditation and Exercise

Yes, we know we've said it before, but it's never wrong to repeat practices that benefit you. Establish a morning routine, regardless of the circumstances. Turn off your phone for an hour and focus on yourself. The world will not stop. Some people even get up at 5 a.m. to complete their morning routine before the rest of the world wakes up. That isn't for everyone, but if it suits you, make it part of your routine.

Adult Colouring Books or Another Hobby

We know some of you may roll your eyes, but they really help! That moment of calm when you step away from everything, put on a song that fits your mood, set out a colouring book and pencils—or another hobby—and devote at least half an hour to it. Trust us: you'll forget what was bothering you an hour earlier and feel refreshed to continue work or to turn your attention to other things that matter to you.

Connecting with Friends and Family

Even as we take precautions for ourselves and others in these uncertain times, contact with our loved ones remains essential. Maintain the connections that matter—those that energise you and bring you joy in the moment. This is a period when many relationships inevitably end, but the ones that endure are those worth your time.
